20. The Weepies - Be My Thrill

This is going to be an anomoly on this chart, but I just really love it and it's one of my most listened to songs of the year. Best line, "my little hot slut!" It belongs on every Valentine's mix cd ever from now on. And the video is adorable!


19. Antoine Dodson and The Gregory Brothers - Bed Intruder Song
It's the new "Tardy For The Party" except Antoine Dodson didn't go into a recording studio and lay down these phat vocals, they were remixed from his appearance on the news! INCREDIBLE! Cathy asked, "What would you do if you were at a club and they played this?" My response, "If I'm in a club, THEY BETTER play this!" Run and tell THAT... Homeboy!!!


18. Ruth-Lena Landgraf - Satellite
Yes, I know you've probably never heard it. You'll have to download it, because there isn't a video for this version of the song. It was originally the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest and was sung by Lena Meyer Landrut (yes, I know it's confusing), but Ruth-Lena's cover is more retro-Amy Winehouse-y soulful. You can listen to it and buy it from Amazon.

17. B.O.B. featuring Bruno Mars - Nothin' On You
If I were a bigger hip hop fan, this would be higher up... and it wouldn't be the only rap song on this list, probably, but... well, I'm not. I love this song and I THINK it was the first song I heard Bruno Mars on. I know "Billionaire" was a huge hit this past year, but it was also the song I liked and got sick of all in like five minutes, so "Nothin' On You" takes it's spot on this list. 16. V.V. Brown - Shark In The Water
This was an EXCELLENT song! I'm a sucker for this kinds of retro-soul sound. I love her slightly raspy voice. I love the video! I just love everything about this song! It should have been a huge mainstream hit, but everyone was busy listening to "Hey Soul Sister" and "Billionaire." Boo!

Top 25 Songs of 2010 - 25-21

Welcome to a special five part OMBC special, where I present my picks for top songs of 2010! The process was trickier than I'd initially thought. I listened to all kinds of music this year, but I wanted stuff that was fairly well-known, so some of the more obscure picks got left off in favor of... well, like Ke$ha. Sorry, The Orange Peels and Never Shout Never and Ariel's Pink Haunted Graffiti! Also, it was hard judging the ENTIRE year's hits, I found, because in January and February, the hits are all left over from the year before. And on the flip side, songs that are new now haven't had time to really make an impact yet. So, as much as I love Duffy's new single "Well, Well, Well," I opted to leave it off, while a couple of songs that were released last year actually charted pretty high. So without further ado...

25. Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me

I think I can safely call Mike Posner the new Daniel Beddingfield. I don't think anyone expects to ever hear from this guy again, but "Cooler Than Me" was one of those infectious songs you couldn't get away from.


24. M.I.A. - XXXO

M.I.A.'s major label debut album fell short of expectations, but I thought the single was excellent. It's no "Paper Planes" but it was a thumping, electro club jam that'll I'll be putting on party play lists for the foreseeable future.

23. P!nk - Raise Your Glass

P!nk has turned out to probably be the most enduring star to come out of the late 90s-early 00s pop scene, by appealing to even the most mainstream pop fans and with her edgy persona, even listeners who would never own a Justin Timberlake or Britney Spears album. "Raise Your Glass" is a new single from her greatest hits album and is perfect in that it recalls her past hits like "Get The Party Started" and "You And Your Hand" and typical outcast-empowering lyrics. Glad to see she's still managing to score hits, unlike a lot of her contemporaries.

22. Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris - Baby

I think people are embarrassed to admit to liking him because he IS so young it IS a little creepy, but COME ON!!! "When I was 13, I had my first love..." You can't deny that!

21. Ke$ha - Take It Off

This song was the point where I realized, "Welllllllp, guess she's not going anywhere." I can't deny that this song is catchy... it's probably my favorite of hers, although I think the lyrics would be even more scandalous is it was "THERE'S a hole in the wall" rather than "It's a hole in the wall." FILTHY!

I enjoyed Deadwood season one, but haven't watched any of the following seasons. I'm sure they're great. It took several episodes to get into season one, though, which is why Cathy still hasn't watched it.
I guess cowboys agree with them. He's playing another one in his I-have-never-heard-of-this series Justified. It's on some year-end Best Of lists, though, so I guess it's okay. I'm sure he's just peachy in it, at least!

Wonder Wednesday -Thor Trailer and Marvel Goes Tron

So the second official Thor trailer has been released:

And it looks faboosh! But even with all the special effects and fighting and ornate sets and costumes, my one "OH SHIT!!! I GOTSTA SEE THAT!!!" moment was this:
HO-LEEE HELL!!! I could make all kindsa hammer jokes right now, but they wouldn't be jokes! I literally gasped OUT LOUD! Talk about a Thunder GOD!!!

Also, side note, the guy who plays Agent Caulson in all the Marvel movies, Clark Gregg:
Kind of a cutie! Scratch that, IS a cutie! He's like mature and manly but still kinda boyishly cute... I could make all kindsa hammer jokes, but...

I keep forgetting that Disney bought Marvel a while ago. But in one of the first real synergistic endeavors between the two, they're doing a Marvel/Tron crossover in the comics to promote the new Tron movie.

Okay, first up, I don't think I've ever actually seen the original Tron, but I always had the impression that it was BAD. Am I wrong? I do remember seeing The Black Hole and that was two hours of my childhood I'll never get back and that was some valuable chrono-real estate to just piss away like that. I thought Tron was like that, expensive, flashy effects squandered on a terrible movie. I figured that's why they never made another one, nor did anyone else make a similar knock off. Am I wrong?

I LOVE this!!! I think they should make it her permanent costume! I mean her real costume is a CLASSIC and I will always love it, but practically speaking, it is very revealing. This maintains the flavor of her classic uniform, but covers her up and gives her a modern, sleek makeover! I uh... don't get the ventilated crotch, though.

I once read an interview with Nichole Scherz... aw hell, like I can spell that, the leader of the Pussycat Dolls, where she talked about being let down by meeting celebrities in real life, her example being Ryan Gosling. Her explanation, "Who DIDN'T love him in The Notebook, but in real life, not so much." Are you fucking kidding me?! The Notebook?! The FUCKING Notebook?! That is... wait let me check... yep, stupidest thing I've ever heard! I love Ryan Gosling and think he's blazing hot, DESPITE THE FACT that he was in that piece of shit The Notebook! God, SERIOUSLY?!

So hot Ryan in in a new movie called All Good Things, where he gets all kindsa wet and nearly naked.
Now, I need alone time!

Throwback Thursday - Recent Holiday Faves Edition

I'm really too tired to do this and it's fairly late, so I'm just going to show two (kinda) recent holiday videos that I really dig.

I seriously want full-length versions of each of those songs! HILARIOUS! But maybe not AS hilarious as Lady Gaga's REAL Christmas song! I'm not kidding!

Wonder Wednesday XXX

So, months ago, I saw the trailer for Batman XXX, a porn parody of the 60s Batman and was stunned by how high the production values appeared. If you haven't watched the trailer, here it is:


I couldn't believe how EXPENSIVE it looked. The costumes are fantastic... which is more than a tad ironic. I mean a REAL Batmobile?! And the sequence featuring it along with the animated titles are SLAVISH recreations of the way they were on the original! It's just SO impressive... I seriously want to see it although I'd probably fast forward through the dirty parts, ha ha! Yuck, I hope The Joker doesn't get naked! That's NO ONE'S fantasy! (Well... it probably is, but that person is a sick freak!) This studio followed Batman XXX up with Reno 911 XXX. Uhhhh... that is the least sexy prospect I have ever heard!
So anyway, I recently learned that there is also a Wonder Woman XXX. But looking at the box, I was surprised by how LOW quality it appeared. The costumes in Batman XXX look fantastic, but this Wonder Woman suit seems really phoned in. A plain gold headband instead of a pointed tiara with a red star on it? NO logo on her chest? No wristbands? Just so half-assed.... I couldn't believe that after doing so well with Batman that the same company would shit out a tired-ass Wonder Woman parody. Well, turns out they didn't! Some other company just jumped on their bandwagon and put this together. And failed!


That looks like SHIT!!! Even by PORN STANDARDS!
And now... there's a Justice League XXX! At least the costumes look a tad better!
This Wonder Woman actually looks really cute with her hair like that! It recalls her look on the Super Friends a bit. HOWEVER, the dudes are almost all effen UGLY! Ron Jeremy is playing The Penguin in it. No one needs to see Ron Jeremy naked. I have no idea how he got so successful in this industry. I saw his documentary movie and I still don't get it. I'd always assumed that he must have been better looking when he was younger... NOPE! He always looked like that!

Anyway, JLA XXX is proof that most of the watchers of (straight) porn don't pay any attention to the guys and it's all about the women. Superman is at least decent-looking and Aquaman is probably the best of the bunch, but that Green Lantern and Robin are complete FUGS!
Porn makers need to be more selective. Don't just let anyone that shows up be in your movies! I think it's harder getting a job at Target than getting into porn! Looking at them again, the two lead actors in Batman XXX are actually pretty good looking!

I'm strangely proud that Aquaman is the subject of porn but, well... this is clearly no Batman XXX, so I will probably never see it.
