WTFriday?! - Ebay Annoyances

As a postscript to yesterday's blog, one thing I find annoying is that eBay sellers so frequently have no clue how to list the items they are selling. For instance, I am seeking Spider-Woman merchandise. I am not looking for her comics, nor her action figures nor statues as I already have most of that stuff. (The stuff I can afford, at least.) I'm looking for oddities and sundries. BUT no one lists this stuff properly. Usually they stick it under comics or action figures, so I'm forced to just search for "Spider-Woman" (or "Spiderwoman" or "Spider Woman" since you have to search under each different spelling separately, another pet peeve)... well, that takes forever! I have to scroll through HUNDREDS of comics, statues, action figures, trading cards (also no interest) to try and find the things I AM looking for and as I accumulate more and more of that stuff, that list grows smaller and smaller. It certainly doesn't help that there have been so MANY Spider-Women with their own comic books and merchandising. Well, at least in Julia Carpenter's case. That Maddie whatever her last name was, wasn't popular enough to even get a trading card that I know of, much less an action figure. It's particularly annoying with the Super Friends. First of all, like with Spider-Woman, sometimes people spell it "Super Friends" and sometimes "Superfriends." Both are technically accurate, because the title was spelled differently in different seasons. ALSO, as I noted in my Viewmaster post, sometimes DC used the more generic "Super Heroes" moniker. The Colorforms set is listed as "Superadventure" and of course there is also "Super Powers" the 80s toyline which is basically a Super Friends tie-in, with lots of other non-action figure merch. This pisses me off...
There's some band called Sweet Water that released an album named Super Friends so of course I get ten billion listings for this album that no one has ever heard of everytime I go a' shopping. At least I stopped getting all those listings for "Super Friends 8X10 Photo!" referring to a picture of the cast of the TV show Friends! Seriously, I used to get page after page of those! I mean, was someone doing it on purpose, like "People are going to be looking for stuff concerning the 70s-80s cartoon Super Friends, so I'll list my photos of the cast of Friends as that, so when they do a search these'll pop up!" Yeah, well, just because these popped up in my search, doesn't mean I'm going to be tricked into thinking the two are in any way related!
And just to complicate things further, DC's latest multimedia push for younger kids is... yep, DC Super Friends. There are toys of all varieties, books, comics... just loads and loads of stuff...
Stuff that's readily available at retail, may I add. So I really don't see why anyone needs to turn to eBay for this stuff... well, okay I admit, I've bought a few of these items, the Aquaman plushes... I bought a Hawkman plush because... it was a freakin' Hawkman plush! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine such a thing would ever exist!
And I freely admit the Imaginext line is AWESOME! I haven't bought any of it, although I was tempted by the Green Lantern jet. The Joker's Funhouse is one of the coolest looking super hero playsets I have ever seen! I can't say I have been that tempted to buy it, because it's so big and I have no real use for it, but it looks awesome and I just love that it exists!

Even so, it gets annoying when I'm looking for this...
... and I'm getting page after page of this...
